Why renovate?
As a church, we have a responsibility to be good stewards of the resources God has given us. Our church has a long history of faithfulness, and we want to continue that legacy into the future. Our current facility could use some additional work to maximize its usefulness. We have been using our gym for corporate worship which was intended to be a temporary solution. We also have limited classroom space and problems with the flow in our lobby and the children's check-in area. Additionally, we have to use multiple spaces in ways other than their intended purposes. We believe making some needed changes to our facility will help our church continue to focus on the mission of making mature disciples (Matt 28:18-20) without hindrance well into the future.
The big picture
This year, our church worked with the architectural firm, Building God’s Way, to create a master plan for the long-term use of our facility. In order to accomplish the full renovation of our property, we have decided to tackle the project in three different phases:
Converting our gym into a permanent worship space
Converting our old sanctuary into a multi-purpose room/fellowship hall
Expanding the face of our building to add better flow, add designated office space, and expand our children’s wing
the plan for 2026
On October 19th 2025, our church affirmed the decision to begin pursuing phases 1 & 2 of our master plan. Our hope is to begin construction mid-2026, and to see the project completed prior to 2027.
PHASE 1
Due to spatial limitations in the original sanctuary, our church has been worshiping in the gym for ten years. Phase 1 will consist of a full transformation of our gym into a permanent worship space. Some key features that will be added are:
Finished walls
New flooring
A permanent stage
Improved lighting
Acoustical ceiling tiles
Added transom windows
phase 2
While our gym currently serves as our worship space, it also serves our primary fellowship space. Therefore, converting the gym to a permanent worship space makes phase 2 immediately necessary. Phase 2 will consist of converting our historic sanctuary into a multi-purpose room. The plan is to preserve the historic shape of this room, but to create an open floor plan that can serve a variety of purposes:
Potlucks
Bridal/baby showers
Membership classes
Children’s events/games
Wedding receptions
Other fellowship events
Additionally, the basement below the sanctuary would be renovated to become a designated student ministry space.
What will it take?
To accomplish phases 1 & 2, our church is seeking to raise $1.25 Million over the course of three years. In order to begin the project and determine its scope now, we are asking for financial pledges to be made between October 19th–November 16th, 2025. Please prayerfully consider how the Lord may be leading you to sacrificially give to this project above your normal giving.
Ways to give
There are numerous ways to give to this renovation. Donations can be made by cash or check, online, through a corporation, or in assets such as stocks and real estate. Once you make a pledge, you can track your giving in your donor profile in church center. As you give, make sure to designate your gift to the “Legacy Campaign” fund so that it can be allocated correctly.
Below is a breakdown showing how every gift works together to help us reach our goal. Whether you can give $30 a month or $2,000 a month, you can help us accomplish our renovation. We trust you will prayerfully seek the Lord’s wisdom as you consider how you might contribute (2 Cor. 9).
FAQ
Q. Will we have to take out a loan?
A. Yes, we will take out a construction loan so that we can begin the work immediately. Then we will pay the loan down as pledges are fulfilled over the next three years.
Q. What if we don’t ever get to phase 3?
A. If we don’t get to phase 3 in a reasonable amount of time, or ever, the improvements we will have made with phases 1 & 2 will significantly improve the functionality of our existing facility.
Q. What is the expected timeline?
A. Our hope is to begin construction in the late summer of 2026 and for both phases to be completed in 4–6 months.
Q. Where will we meet during the renovation?
A. This will be impacted by several factors that we won’t know until 2026, but the hope is to be onsite as much as possible.
