God is perfect and without sin. Man, however, is
sinful. Mankind is in the darkness because of the wrong
things we have done. Romans 3:23 says, “all have
sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” God
loves us. But there is a problem because God must deal
with our sin. The Bible says in Romans 6:23 that
“the payment for sin is death…”. God does not
want us to die but to have everlasting life with Him.
Therefore, He sent Jesus to forever eliminate the debt
to God that our sin costs us.

God loved us so much that He sent His only son Jesus
to earth as a man. He lived on the earth for 33 years,
teaching people about himself and about God. Jesus was
crucified on a cross in order to pay for our sins so
that we would not be separated from God. The Bible
explains this in several places. In John 3:16, it reads
“God so loved the world that He gave His only Son
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have
everlasting life.”. The Bible also says,
“God demonstrates His love for us, in that while we were
still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8).

Men buried Jesus in a tomb and rolled a huge stone in
front of it. Soldiers guarded the tomb.

God sent an angel to roll away the big stone that
closed Jesus’ tomb. Then God raised Jesus from the dead.
Soon afterward, God took Jesus back to heaven while some
of Jesus’ followers watched in amazement. Jesus paid the
price for our sin and conquered death as well.

Jesus is the only way we can come to God. Jesus said,
“I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one
comes to the Father, except through me.” (1 John
14:6). Through Jesus, we can be forgiven of all our sins
and be with God forever. But, just knowing about these
things is not enough, we must put our faith in Jesus,
trusting Him to save us from our sins. If you do not
take the step of trusting Jesus, then your sins are not
removed.

The Bible says that whoever believes in Jesus has
eternal life and is not judged. But whoever does not
believe in Jesus will have the wrath of God upon him.
(John 3:16, 18, 36). John 6:23 is good news! ”The
penalty for sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.”. What
choice will you make? Trust in Jesus Christ to be
forgiven and have eternal life in heaven or reject Jesus
and suffer eternal punishment in hell? Would you like to
trust Jesus right now and be saved? If no…. We at
Fisherville Baptist pray that one day you will accept Jesus as
your Savior. If yes, continue. The Bible says,
“If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord and
believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead,
you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9). Pray a prayer
similar to this one: God, thank you for loving me. I
confess that I have sinned against you. I believe that
your Son Jesus died on a cross to pay for my sins, and
that you raised Him from the dead. I now put my faith
only in Jesus to forgive me and save me from my sins.
Thank you for the gift of eternal life. Amen. If you
prayed sincerely asking God to save you through Jesus,
you have received God’s gift of forgiveness and eternal
life. The Bible says that now you are a child of the
King. You will inherit of the riches of heaven. Now
there are several things that you must do to ensure that
you will grow.

You must read the Bible regularly. In order to
understand how God wants you to live, you must read His
word. To ensure growth, you must also pray constantly.
This allows you to fellowship with God on a daily basis.
Talk to God like you would a close friend, He hears your
deepest thoughts and concerns and longs to console your
heart. Also, you must find a church that believes and
teaches the Bible. The reason for this is so that you
can be taught further about Christ and so that you may
have friendships with people who will encourage you in
your new relationship with Christ. The final step of
growth that is essential is sharing your faith with
others. You must tell other people what God has done in
your heart so that they can come to know Christ like you
have. It is our responsibility as Christians, to tell
the whole world what Jesus has done for them. God can
reach the world through you if you commit yourself to
share!
